With 360 students, Delhi University start

As per the official, the Faculty of Technology offered three courses: B-Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, B-Tech Computer Science and Technology, and B-Tech Electrical Engineering.

In an upcoming session, Delhi University will launch B-Tech programmes where around 360 students will be admitted to three engineering courses via JEE Mains. The official also stated that the university received approval from the Ministry of Education to create 72 teaching posts and 48 non-teaching posts to support the new course.

A committee has been formed by the institution in 2021 in order to discuss the introduction of the new courses. The committee held many meetings over the past 1.5 years and discussed various issues in order to facilitate the introduction of the three B-Tech courses under the Faculty of Technology.

According to the Press Trust of India’s report, “the university will check the aspirant’s score on the entrance examination (mains) to decide whether he can join the B-Tech courses or not”.

Also, the Union Minister of Education received a request for the construction of the Faculty of Technology’s physical infrastructure, which would take time to obtain financial and other statutory approvals.

The committee had given permission to the vice chancellor to decide on suitable space and other essential physical infrastructure for the start of these B-Tech courses, the report stated.

The committee announced that 120 students will be enrolled in each subject during the first year. It means a total of 360 students will be admitted together. Students who complete four years successfully will get a B-Tech degree.
