To discuss various issues, the wealthiest leaders will come together during the two-day summit. This G20 Summit 2023 is the 18th meeting of the G20 group and will be held in New Delhi.
The G20 group consists of the 19 wealthiest countries, including the European Union as a bloc. These countries include India, the United States, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Mexico, Canada, China, France, Australia, Japan, Argentina, Italy, Indonesia, Brazil, Germany, South Africa, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
Some of the big organizations are also invited, including the Organization for Economic and Development (OECD), the World Trade Organization (WTO), the United Nations (UN), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Over the two-day summit, India also invited the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the International Solar Alliance (ISA), the Asian Development Bank, and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI).
This year, on September 9 and 10, the G20 summit will be organized in New Delhi at the newly constructed Bharat Mandapam.

The theme of the G20 summit is inspired by the Sanskrit proverb “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”. As per the organizer, the concept is derived from an ancient Sanskrit text. The phrase indicates the “value of all life—human, plant, animal, and microorganism”.
In English, the meaning of the theme is “One Earth, One Family, Our Future”. The event will also discuss LIFE (Mission Lifestyle for Environment), as per organizers.
Since the first G20 summit was held in 2008, this will be the first time the Chinese president will skip it. Xi had attended virtually during the COVID-19 time in 2019 and 2020. As per the report, Rishi Sunak, the British Prime Minister, is also anticipated to attend this summit. US President Joe Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will attend the conference.
On the other hand, the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, decided to skip it. As per an Indian media report, the French President, Emmanuel Macron, is expected to attend the summit and will have a personal discussion with Modi.
According to Indian media, Argentina’s President, Alberto Fernandez, and South Africa’s President, Cyril Ramaphosa, are also expected to attend.
